What does it take to keep the deer from eating my tomatoes? Hot oil!
As you may or may not recall, each year Rizzo and I find the time to see A Christmas Carol live on stage during the holiday season (take a read of some previous years by clicking here). Over the past few years we have stayed close to home because in 2014 Cece wasn’t even a year old and in 2015 Cece was still a little tyke so we only left for one night. Now that Cece has grown up to be a young whipper snapper of 2 ½ we felt that we could take a longer adventure. With that in mind, Rizzo and I hopped on a plane and headed up to the land of ten thousand lakes, Minnesota.
Another week in the world of being self employed and I’m finding I have (what should come as a surprise to no one) less time to write as I’m beating the pavement to secure new clients. Rizzo has on multiple occasions had to settle me down to explain to me that is has only been a few weeks and that I’m not going to have a full slate of clients in just a couple of weeks. My head says exactly that but my heart still gets frustrated that it isn’t happening all at once. I planned for this so it isn’t as if it was something unforeseen. This was all part of the plan but some days it still feels like wheels are spinning. The most important part is to keep working. In the end, the hard work will pay off.
There are some weeks that are so busy that by the time the week is done you can’t even remember what you did that week. Sometimes those weeks are good and sometimes they are bad. The bad weeks are those that seem to drag on because you have so much to do but you can’t seem to get caught up. The good weeks are those that are busy but productive. This was one of the good busy weeks. One of those weeks that was hardly worth writing about (because nothing spectacular happened even though it was busy) but also one of those weeks that was dominated by a single thing. This week was dominated by our lunch: the burrito bowl.
