Homeschooling
I may be one of the luckiest guys during this time of crisis. I couldn’t be set up in a better place. My job primarily consists of working from home so I already have that under control. I also have a spouse that is an elementary school teacher which makes planning for having kids at home so much easier. Rizzo also happens to be a big nerd so the idea of making schedules, lesson plans, and educational programs for Cece gets her all pumped up.
As great as Rizzo is (she is amazing and I can never say that enough), that isn’t the point of this little blog post. I want to give a big, giant, amazing shout out to Cece’s teacher, Ms. Walsh. As soon as it was announced that schools were shutting down, Ms. Walsh was all over the message board and YouTube. We received loads of programs and support for teaching Cece. It was amazing.
The second video Ms. Walsh posted was a science experiment on making rain. The only things required were a cup of water, shaving cream, and another color of liquid (food coloring, juice, even soy sauce). With that, Cece learned how clouds get saturated and then rain falls.
I’m happy to share the video of Cece and Rizzo learning some science. Things like this give me confidence that we can make it through this crisis if we all work together and support our community. No time in history have we been more prepared for a crisis like this. Technology allows us to stay in touch through video chatting, email, texting, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Tik Tok, ABC, Phonogram, Talk-To-Me, LonerPhone, Bookface (I may have made some of those up), and good ole’ fashion phone calls.
So stay safe, stay healthy, and stay the hell away from me!
