Non-Scale Victory

When Rizzo and I first started dating I told her that one of my goals was to have an ab. Not "abs" but an ab, singular. It wasn't anything I actually thought possible. To remind you all of the awful girth here is a "before" picture. You've seen it before. Don't look at it too long or blood will start to shoot from your eyeballs.

I couldn't even put my arms down by my side I was so heavy. Not a pretty sight. Well this week I was working out in the basement (with my shirt off, ladies) and I thought I'd pop in and take an "after" picture since I haven't blessed you wonderful people with a topless picture in a few months. Check out the glisten!

I know they aren't their yet, but, I see the potential to have an ab. It isn't out of the realm of possibility. Something that I once thought was as possible as military intelligence, jumbo shrimp, old news, and plus-size skinny jeans now seems like a goal that can be achieved. I guess I'll have to start doing some sit-ups.

Weekly Weight Update

I had a had a feeling that I was having a pretty good week and the periodic weight checks at home confirmed my suspicions. I wasn't on track to lose 10 pounds in a week or anything but I felt like I was on the right track by eating well and working out. The Weight Watchers scale wasn't quite as friendly as I thought it would be but I was down .4 pounds bringing the total weight loss to 60.2 lbs and the current weight to 207.2. I'm so close to 200 I can taste it.

This whole training for a 10-miler nonsense has got to stop. Rizzo is just kicking my ass all over the place. I might as well have not even participated in February or the first week of March. Rizzo won her appointment at the Red Door Spa with a February mileage total of 149.9 miles which is outstanding compared to my puny 144.9. Congratulations, jerk! 

Did Rizzo decided to take it easy on me the first week of March? Of course not! She decided to pile it on more. The current March standings leave me in the dust with Rizzo pumping out 30.8 miles in the five days this week included in March. I only moved 25.5 miles. Jerk!

P.S. The title picture of this blog is from a beer festival that Rizzo and I went to in 2010. I was so awesome that these ladies insisted on taking a picture with me. Who can blame them?
