Introducing the New Green Bean Conspiracy: Weekly Weight Update

Let me start by introducing you to the new home of the Green Bean Conspiracy, gbconspiracy.com. The more I wrote the more I wanted to have a place that looked a bit classier and smoother. I worked to move a copy of each of my previous posts over to this new site so, since I know you are desperate to read old posts, you can find them all in one place. Each post has a like option so please click that like button if you like the post. Also feel free to leave some comments. I'd love to hear what you think or how I can improve. I'm not exactly a professional writer, just the guy who does the thing. I hope you enjoy the new look and feel of the Green Bean Conspiracy.

After last weeks slight weight gain I made sure to stick to my workouts even if it meant getting out at running in 777% humidity at 8:30pm on a Thursday. I was getting home from work a bit later than normal during the summer due to all the kids going back to school. As a result, I was taking time after work to play with Cece before she went to bed then pounding the pavement after she was asleep. This pushed the workouts to later in the evening which I hoped would drop the humidity down but it didn't. Every night after a run I looked like I jumped in the shower for a few hours.

One key thing I re-learned this week is that I cannot have dinner before I go running. I have lived by this rule for a long time but Tuesday night I re-learned this lesson. I was late getting home so I knew I wouldn't get to workout until after Cece went to bed. Rizzo and Cece were about to have dinner so I figured I'd sit down and have dinner with them since I wouldn't be running for another couple of hours. No problem, right? Wrong. By the time I was able to get out I was drained and exhausted. No running on Tuesday.

Don't worry, I made up for it with a Wednesday and Thursday run. I'm passed any walking in my couch-to-5K app with the exception of the warm-up and cool-down. That means at least 25 straight minutes of running. Some days are faster and farther than others but I've been able to run continuously through the entire workout, so that is a plus. Rizzo and I are running in a 5k on September 19th. After that I plan to add some non-cardio workouts to my routine. I still want to get in that pull-up.

At the end of the day, this weeks hard work resulted in no weight loss. Of course, it also resulted in no weight gain. I'm exactly the same weight as last week. I'm steady at 219.2. It looks like 219 is going to be the plateau to overcome. Even with no weight loss I'm happy with my diet and exercise this week.
